Tirupur is South India's knitwear capital. Roughly a quarter of all knit garments exported from India come out of this single district. It is the kind of place where a single neighbourhood has fifty cutting tables and two hundred sewing machines, and where the difference between a good factory and a great one is measured in the cleanliness of the trim room and the patience of the line supervisor.
One workshop, not many
We chose to put everything we make through one workshop instead of distributing across many. The trade-off is volume — we cannot scale up overnight. The upside is consistency. The same hands are stitching every panty and every T&D set. The same person is checking every pajama waistband. When a piece comes back with a defect, we know exactly who made it and how to make sure it does not happen again.
What it does not mean
Making in India does not automatically make a brand ethical. Tirupur has factories that are excellent and factories that are not. Every product is made in our own factory — we do not outsource any product. The only steps that leave our floor are printing and embroidery, which go to specialist units and come straight back. The goal is transparency, not theatre.
